Greetings, LOGNATION!

It seems hard to believe, but the end of the year is nearly upon us. With it, we’re excited to share the Winter 2024 edition of the Exceptional Release, another world class issue full of articles on topics ranging from leadership to innovation, technology, logistics, and international partnerships. I hope you’ll make the time to read and reflect on these ideas. You’ll be better for it!

Before you scroll onto the next page, I wanted to share some of the great work going on across LOGNATION. As you may be aware, our team is hard at work in planning #LOA2025, which will be held in the Oklahoma City Convention Center, 18-21 March. The supremely capable Robert Campbell, “Nanner” Peele, Sydney Pfeffer, and Brenda Herrera are assembling another phenomenal agenda around this year’s theme—Logistics: The Decisive Advantage. From this experience, our hope is that you take away:

  • Logistics is Decisive
  • Winning takes a Team
  • Change is required

Registration is open at logisticsymposium.org, so save your spot and make your hotel reservation. From the OKC Thunder vs Philadelphia 76ers game to #LOA2025, we are going to sell out… March will be here before you know it!

Additionally, I wanted to recognize the groundswell of support that we’ve seen from the chapters. This past year, we’ve had leaders at 9 different locations around the world step up and take concrete steps to revive LOA chapters. Under the leadership of our LOA National Ambassador, Alyssa Heimerman, we’re building the network to connect chapters in new ways and to better support local efforts and initiatives throughout the year. I am thrilled by the energy we’re seeing from passionate professionals willing to volunteer their time and can’t wait to see all that we’ll achieve in the next juncture.

Finally, I also wanted to share my appreciation for the quality candidates we received for our upcoming elections for LOA National Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Be on the lookout for an electronic ballet coming to your email inbox in the next couple of months and make your voice heard for the next generation of LOA National leadership.

With each edition of the ER and every conversation I have with a Chapter President, I am fired up about the work we do in this organization. The Logistics Officer Association fills critical needs within our community. We uniquely provide for and connect logisticians that meaningfully improve our national security. It’s a pleasure to serve with you each and every day… Thanks for all that you do.

Happy holidays and we’ll see you in ’25!

Jason Okumura
