Arlington, VA — The Logistics Officer Association (LOA) proudly recognizes Ms. Lynn Forrester as the recipient of the prestigious Lt. Gen. Zettler Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating her 39 years of extraordinary service to the logistics community.

After graduating from Richmond High School in 1983, Forrester enlisted several years later in the United States Air Force. Serving as a logistician through September 11, 2001, she played a crucial role in planning operations across the Middle East and retired with distinction after a 20-year career.

With a desire to continue serving her nation amidst ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Forrester took the oath to continue service as a civilian logistician. She served in a variety of positions, including multiple assignments in the 448th Supply Chain Management Wing, before retiring a second time after more than 19 additional years as a civil servant.

Recognizing the value of networking, education, and professional development, Forrester volunteered to serve as the Chief Information Officer of the Logistics Officer Association. In this role, she coordinated professional development opportunities for thousands of logisticians around the globe, oversaw the publication of the Exceptional Release journal, and led the communication efforts for multiple LOA Symposia. Additionally, she was a key advocate for the installation of the “Maintenance Man” statue in 2017, which now welcomes thousands of future Air Force maintainers and logisticians at the gates of Sheppard AFB in honor of Lt Gen Leo Marquez.

After a life of serving her country and logisticians around the world, Forrester passed away after a tough battle with ALS. In recognition for the tremendous accomplishments throughout her career, the Logistics Officer Association posthumously recognizes Ms. Lynn Forrester for her exemplary service.

Thank you, Lynn, for your leadership in the logistics community!
