ST. LOUIS – The Logistics Officer Association Symposium came to a close Friday, 31 March, concluding the organization’s 41st anniversary and several days of professional development events for logisticians from all over the world.
At this year’s symposium, LOA hosted 115 booths in the vendor exhibitor hall. This forum provided an important venue for Department of Defense, industry, and academic partners to learn about cutting edge technology and share discussions about warfighter needs.
“The Logistics Officers Association Symposium has been tremendous this year and has provided an excellent opportunity for our team to engage with logistics, acquisition and technology professionals across the Department of Defense,” said Matthew Fritz, business development executive director for Boeing Global Services–a platinum sponsor of this year’s event. “LOA gives us the ability to engage directly with industry experts where together we can focus on Mission Generation Under Attack.”
Providing crucial support that enables the symposium, sponsors in the exhibitor hall reinforced many of the messages and themes from sessions on the mainstage and across the break out sessions.
“LOA provided us a great opportunity to connect with Airmen and orient them to revolutionary readiness-building tools available now at their bases!” said Jonathan Bland, Director of AMC Programs at Mass Virtual–one of LOA’s diamond sponsors.
These perspectives were shared by LOA members who interacted with the vendors throughout the event.
Capt Suzanna Palmer, Chief Information Officer for the LOA Gateway Chapter at Scott AFB, highlighted this. “LOA was a great opportunity to hear from our senior leaders and then integrate with industry partners to learn about the technology they’re working on relevant to our needs. I had a number of great conversations and got a lot from these interactions!”
Each year, sponsors make the LOA symposium possible and also add tremendous value to the content and quality of the professional development offered.
Closing out the 2023 LOA Symposium, President Jason Kalin invited LOA members and sponsors back to the Union Station Hotel in March 2024.
“After a great week of professional development, I hope you’ll join us again next year for #LOA2024!”
