2022 LOA National Award Winner Announcement
Congratulations to our 2022 LOA National award winners! We are proud of their contributions to LOA and the greater Air Force mission, and look forward to celebrating their achievements at this year’s LOA Symposium, 28-31 Mar, 2023 in St. Louis, MO. Lt Gen Zettler Lifetime Achievement Award: Demonstrated sustained superior leadership in service to the Logistics Officer Association. Nominees will have at least 20 years of service in a logistics related career and at least 10 years of LOA membership.

Gen Babbitt National Distinguished Service Award (NDSA): The General George T. Babbitt National Distinguished Service Award recognizes LOA National members who made the greatest contributions to the furthering of LOA National’s goals and objectives.

Maj Gen Saunders Chapter Distinguished Service Award (CDSA): The Chapter Distinguished Service Award (CDSA) is named after Maj Gen Mary L. Saunders (Ret) and recognizes the National LOA members who made the greatest contributions in support of their local LOA Chapter activities.

Chapter of the Year Awards: Recognizes chapters who support national goals and objectives, innovative programs for supporting their membership, mentorship, exchange programs, professional development tours, and community support.

- Mrs. Tune Chapter of the Year Award (Medium Chapter): Gateway Chapter, Scott AFB

Maj Gen Marcelite Harris Trailblazer Awards: Any individual or team from military, government, civilian, academic, or industry that has developed an innovative idea or solution within or supporting the Air Force Logistics enterprise. Illustrate the nomination’s “trailblazing character” by describing how the innovation improved or benefited an aspect of the Logistics enterprise. Innovative ideas and solutions can be from any sector or category and include (not all inclusive): maintenance, deployment, distribution, transportation, life-cycle logistics, retail or wholesale supply chain management, sustainment planning and delivery/execution, information technology, cyber security, systems research and development, systems testing, resource planning and investment as well as government policy and corporate governance.

2022 LOA Scholarship Winners: The Logistics Officer Association (LOA) Scholarship Program is designed to promote education for junior enlisted, officers and civilians of the Armed Forces in the logistics and acquisition career fields. Each recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

Major General Hugh J. Knerr Exceptional Author Award: The Exceptional Writer Award is awarded to the author(s) of the best article published in the Exceptional Release during a calendar year. The winners are selected by the Exceptional Release editorial team for each of the following categories: Field Grade Officer, Company Grade Officer, Enlisted, and both Industry and DoD civilians.
